Monday 18 November 2019 —InnoGames, Germany’s leading developer and publisher of online and mobile games and part of Modern Times Group MTG, has achieved a €1 billion revenue mark. InnoGames has achieved double-digit revenue growth annually since the company was launched in 2007. Forge of Empires contributed over €500 million to lifetime achievement, followed by InnoGames classics such as Grepolis and Tribal Wars with over €100 million each. Elvenar, launched in 2015, has contributed significantly to this milestone and continues to catch up quickly. InnoGames’ growth has been fueled primarily by the company’s strategic shift to mobile, its ongoing live operations, and content updates. Today, mobile makes up half of InnoGames’ total revenue and is the main driver of growth.
InnoGames reaches 1 billion euros in lifetime revenue
“The keys to our success are our world-class teams and high-quality approach, particularly in live operations. We are one of the few companies that has achieved delivering long-lasting entertainment experiences to gamers around the world on both desktop and mobile devices,” says Hendrik Kleinworth, CEO of InnoGames.” “We would like to thank everyone who contributed to this exciting achievement and, in the end, thank our players for their loyalty. Going forward, we will continue to focus on creating great new games and expanding our existing titles,” continues Klendworth.
As the company’s performance on the browser continues to develop sustainably, the mobile share is expected to grow even more. Since 2015, revenue from mobile devices has grown on average by 56% year over year, and the majority of player registrations have been on mobile platforms.
As the first in the industry, InnoGames completed an automated conversion of Flash versions of its browser to HTML5 to ensure the longevity of games when Adobe discontinued Flash support in 2020. Along with mobile apps, gamers can enjoy cross-platform games, requiring one account Just.
“Revenue generation for life is another proof point of our strategy and our successful transition to mobile. Our cross-platform approach, especially on the browser, allows us to take advantage of strong profit margins. At the same time, we are enjoying high growth rates on mobile,” summarizes Klendworth.
The largest markets by revenue for InnoGames (since 2007) were the United States, Germany and France. As of today, all the games in the InnoGames wallet have been played around the world for the equivalent of 337,723 years.
