Since there are millions of apps in the Apple App Store, there are bound to be some apps that are considered bad eggs that try to deceive users. We’ve heard such stories before, with some scam apps reportedly making up to $1 million from users per month. It now appears that Apple has finally addressed these issues by making it easier for users to report these types of apps.
As Kosta Eleftheriou and Richard Mazkweich noted on Twitter, it looks like Apple has finally added a “Report a Problem” button in the App Store for app listings. Clicking on it will bring users to another page where they can then determine that the app in question is either a scam or a scam.

Before that, users had to go through a long-term way to report these types of apps and then be redirected to another website where they have to sign into their Apple account again. This made it even more annoying for users to report, but with the button back, users will now be able to complain to Apple more easily than ever before.

This feature requires the app to be installed on your phone, which we assume is fair because Apple probably doesn’t want people to simply abuse the feature to try to get innocent apps into trouble.
While it’s a welcome update, how long it will take Apple to process the reported apps and what they will do is a different story. Critics have pointed out how Apple allowed these types of apps to proliferate in the past, so while it’s easier to report them now, what Apple does next is likely to be clearer as to whether or not they are now taking these issues more seriously.
