The LoB Human Resources sample data includes employee headcount data for the BestRun Bikes sample. The headcount view includes associations with the following dimensions: manager, departments, job, job classification, location, departments, and time.

The following diagram shows the table structure in SAP Data Warehouse Cloud from LoB HR.

For an overview of the data model, the entity relationship diagram provides useful insight into data modeling. In the following, you can see the relationship between the various tables and views.

SAP Data Warehouse Cloud enables you to perform ETL transfers within the tool. To demonstrate this ability, the LoB HR scenario uses a simple example. Since the source data is not yet in the correct format, a data flow is used to combine different employee-related data to add computed columns to the result.

Data Flow for LoB HR joins employee-related data with the “Join” operator and includes a script in Python to calculate the employee’s entry and exit year.

The SAP Finance, HR, and Sales model content is a great way to get started with SAP Data Warehouse Cloud data modeling. It helps you to easily understand the features of SAP Data Warehouse Cloud with a simple approach. You can quickly set yourself up by importing the content package into your space in SAP Data Warehouse Cloud. The basic ER model helps to easily understand and deploy the different entities included in this content package. In the final step, you load the sample data into the tables to prepare your model for data consumption.

In this blog post, I learned the detailed basic information about LoB HR data. This scenario consists of different tables and views, while the ER model serves as the central entry point to the data model. Simple Data Flow introduces ETL functionality within the SAP Data Warehouse Cloud. Finally, all related entities used in this scenario are listed in the table above.
